I took the photo above using my little digital camera–wow! I like it so much, I’m having a  16 x 20 poster made of it.

One of my early attempts to create stained glass, and one of my favorites.

I teach my students to try to create images in the minds of their readers by “painting” a picture with words. Telling them to appeal to those marvelous five senses we have, I say you must show your readers what you want them to see.

All that sounds really good until I look at the photograph.

My heart warms. The sudden tightness in my chest accompanies a swelling in my throat. Eyes stinging, I gaze a moment longer before I am forced to turn away.

It’s difficult to swallow and blinking doesn’t clear my vision.

Unbidden thoughts carry me on a tide of remembrance, and

words fail me…

My pictures that speak louder than words–

We were so proud.

Proud Dad, Sam A. Langley  with happy daughter, Cherry Dawn

Zachary Allen Fullard’s family showing the love. I pasted this collage on his high chair tray to remind him of the people who love him most.

I wish these pics were as sharp here as they are in print. Doesn’t do the image justice.

The next photo is the one I wanted to use as my header, but the crop just wasn’t helpful–you see waves (good), but not the beauty that goes with them–hmmm, my Thoughtwaves may not be beautiful…

But Daytona sunrise is!

  1. I wonder if this business of creating images carries the punch it was meant to. I even dreamed I was trying to tell my dad about it!
    It has haunted me…hmmm.
If I were teaching, I would say, “Can we apply this writing to another picture with the same impact?”
I think I can, and I think it would be as strong.
    I would love feedback.
