Caution! Artists at Work.

Here’s a bit of info to help you navigate my Thoughtwaves!  Clicking on a Heading at the top of the page will take you places, or you might use the  search spot in the upper right corner of any page.

Okay, that’s it. I don’t want to wear you out with instructions. By the way, your Comments are welcome–feel free to poke around…

And now Caution! Artists at Work.

The above oil on canvas, “In Flight” was painted in the same art class (under artist Jeff Lemieux) where I was a beginner to the art of painting…What a terrific class that turned out to be, and so gratifying. Now I think I can…

Sky Palette

Sky Palette…my first photo-graphics’ piece. I’ll get accurate measurements posted soon, but I think it’s about 16 by 28…framed price is $135.00.   I love the magic.

–Wings of Glory–

“Wings of Glory”  was the gift from God that got me started with my photography. This one remains free to any who want it–just print it directly from here. BTW–it looks specatcular as a 16 by 20 in a silver frame…

–Breaching–

“Breaching” has not yet been shown. I have special plans for this one.

–Sunburst–

“Sunburst” is another pic I have not yet shown–it was printed on the invitation to my first show, but that’s as far as I went with it then. I plan to enlarge and frame it out as an 18 by 28 after it’s cropped.  It’s one of the “looking up” series I’m working on.

Fan and Artist–Cherry (that’s me!) and Artist Jackie Strickland (right) share a moment at the artist’s exhibition in Brunswick, GA  summer, 2011. Notice the pumpkin shop–a crowd favorite.

After lots of discussion and repeated viewing of the more than fifty paintings on display, I finally returned to the one that had touched the artist in me…and just a few weeks ago (May, ’12), my dear friend, Jackie, GAVE it to me!!! How wonderful is that? With her permission, I share it with you, my five Faithful Followers.  I call it —

Jackie’s Starry Night

prayer beads by Cherry

Red on black Prayer Beads

Making Anglican prayer beads is something I learned to do several years ago when I attended Calvary Episcopal Church in Americus, GA. Since then, I have made more than fifty and even sold a few custom designs. Mostly, I just love the peace that comes with meditating and applying my attention to the process.

Tide’s Right

“Tide’s Right” came about as I attempted to capture a massive, gnarled tree trunk. Instead I got ripples, swirling riptides, and whirlpools of seawash.

Moving from camera work to the canvas, I tried mixing paint on glass–kinda like the effect.
